I Ponder Your Direction

Dear Reader,

This will be my 80th post as well as the last post of 2010. I truly don't believe that the timing could have been any better.

Instead of the "usual" entry, I wanted to leave you with this poem for the new year.

I Ponder Your Direction

I come to you with no clever answer
to the meaning of life and its intricacies.
I come to you with no thought of depth
as to where paths go that cannot be seen.
Do know that I come to you with humility,
for all that has come to pass.
Though man's time ticks on
I insist on seeing this.
That though my hands have been withered with labor,
it has not been in vain,
for where they reached was not my gain.
They have been restored anew, stronger and built,
for greater works to come.
That though my mind has toiled with lies and truths
and lies and truths,
it has been given an endless land of peace,
for though I know not everything,
I've received wisdom to discern what comes.
That though my feet have calloused from walking unknown roads,
and have bled from lack of comfort,
I have seen and crossed the finish line...for now, this season,
for though this raced has ended,
I wait and position for the whistle to blow again.
That though my words have had to quiet themselves,
I have spoken love and care,
and apologies all the same,
for although I have felt a word's harsh sting,
mine now by grace do comfort bring.
That though my eyes have witnessed impurity,
after impurity and impurity,
they have seen the splendor of a sight from within,
for despite the twisted ways of things not known,
my eyes can rest in beauty that encompasses the ripples of life.
That though my ears have heard deception,
and caused me to strain at what was real,
I have heard the reality of a Word that live forever,
as the grass withers, flowers fade...oh, what poetry it brings,
for though they wither and fade,
through The Word my ears shall hear again.
That though my heart beats wildly, endlessly,
at each breath, treasured moment, intimate embrace,
I have not failed to see the glory of His face.
Days may pass my brother,
tears may fall my sister,
but no matter the minute, the hour, the day, the year,
He is the same always, forever, eternity, unchanging.
Never fickle, nor fault, or fail,
but everlasting, unfathomable, and honorable in every way.
Be mindful of time and how it fades as the grass,
and our bodies how they wither as the flower,
but that there is a God that lives and breaths,
at each...passing...hour,
and that in Heaven He awaits and says,
My children! As your ears they hear, your hands they reach,
your feet they run, your mouths they speak, your hearts they beat,
your minds they think, and eyes to see,
do not forget or fail to see,

they all began with Me.
